How to Add User Generated Content (Videos and Selfies) to SoSha Posts
The "User Generated Content" feature lets sharers take or upload their own photos and videos, creating engaging content created by your audience for events and campaigns.
This feature boosts social sharing, enhances campaign visuals, and encourages authentic audience participation with custom overlays and video posts.
How to Add User-Generated Content to a Post:
Click "+ New Post" in the post creator.
Select a social media platform and enter post text. (See How to Create a Post for details.)
When selecting a visual, choose User-Generated Content instead of Upload a Visual. If you cannot access this feature, double check what plan you are on.
Select the type of media sharers can capture: Photo or Video.
Photo Options:
Click Instructions to add a short description for sharers.
Choose a media format: 16:9, 1:1, or 9:16.
(Optional) Addcamera overlay image to frame the sharer’s photo. Make sure it’s a transparent PNG so there’s space where their face or photo can go underneath. This lets your graphic sit on top of their image — like a frame or sticker — without covering it up.
Note: Since these posts use a manual image (not a link preview), your overlay doesn’t need to match the usual link card shape or size. You have more flexibility with design and aspect ratio — just make sure it fits the platform your users will be sharing on (e.g. 9:16 for Instagram stories).
When you add an overlay image, it’ll appear with a grey and white background so you can see where users’ photos will appear.
Video Options:
Click Instructions to provide guidance for sharers of how they should record the video.
Click Prompt to add a short message while they record (e.g., "Talk about your favorite speaker at today's conference.").
Choose a media format for the video: 16:9, 1:1, or 9:16.
(Optional) Upload a camera overlay image. Like the photo overlay, make sure it’s a transparent PNG so there’s space where their face or photo can go underneath.
