How to Create a Post

Building posts is the core of SoSha. These are the ready-made posts your community shares from their own accounts. When people engage with or click on those posts, you can track the results.

Follow these steps to craft shareable posts for your community:

Click the toolkit you'd like to create content within on your SoSha dashboard.

Once you've entered the toolkit, click  ‘+ New Post’ on the left hand side.

Choose what type of post you'd like to create: 

• Original: A ready-to-share post with text, an image, and/or a link that your community publishes to their own social accounts.
• Reply: A suggested comment your community can post in response to an existing public social media post. Learn more.
• User-Generated: A post that asks your community to add their own photo or video before sharing. Learn more.

Choose the social platforms you want your community to share to.

Add Post Elements - Text, links and media are all optional elements depending on the type of post you'd like to create for your community.

Text: Write in the voice of your target audience to encourage sharing. We encourage including a clear call to action (e.g., click, sign a petition, or donate).

• Highlight text and select Fill-in-the-Blank to require your community to personalize a post before sharing. You can also create these fields using double brackets: [[Enter your own reason here]].
  
  • Double brackets can also be prefilled using URL parameters, such as brackets=content.
• Keep an eye on the character count in the bottom right of the text box. This will alert you if a post is too long to comply with selected social media platform character counts.  

Visuals - Upload photos, videos, PDFs, GIFs or enable the ‘User Generated Content’ feature for sharers to add their own visuals.

• You can upload up to 10 media files per post but some platforms like X and Bluesky only allow 4 media files per post.
• If you are including a link, the platforms recommend a 1.91:1 aspect ratio for the link cards.
  
  • Use the cropping tool to adjust your images directly on the platform. If your image doesn’t fit the ratio perfectly, there will be a subtle blur added outside the cropped area to fill the space and avoid awkward cropping.

When you upload an image, you may see a prompt about incorrect image resolution. Choose whether to add a blurred background or crop the image to fit.

Links - Add a link, customize its preview caption, and track clicks after your community shares it.

Post Settings - Customize the post to add a label to organize your post or enable AI so your community can generate personalized versions.

Once you’ve created a post, add variations to tailor the copy and image size for different social platforms. Platform-specific variations can help increase shares and engagement.

• Key Tip: Start with the platform you’re most comfortable writing for, and use the AI to generate the remaining variations.
